City of Seneca Animal Control
Normal hours of operation are: Monday – Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm
City of Seneca Ordinance 99-12 requires that animals be restricted to their owners property. This ordinance is designed to protect the rights of residents and the animals from harm and danger. The City of Seneca respects your right to own a pet and to maintain it on your property. However, when your pet infringes upon the property and rights of others, we must apply the appropriate ordinances. Every day we pick up animals that have been injured or killed on the streets of the city because they were not properly confined. Please be a responsible pet owner and good neighbor by properly confining your pets on your property.
We only manage domesticated animals. Any non-domesticated animal will fall under codes and ordinance violation and will be handled at the discretion of the Seneca Police Department or Code Enforcement Office. If you have an issue with problem (nuisance) wildlife, you must contact the SC Department of Natural Resources.
Dogs running at large or any actual Dog bite should be reported to the Seneca Police Department.
Concerns for an animals’ welfare should be reported to the Seneca Police Department.
Domesticated animals to be surrendered by the owner may do so during normal operating hours (7am-3pm).
Traps will only be set for complainants on complainants’ property and only during normal operating hours.
Traps will be picked up weekly by Friday at 2:00pm regardless of when they are set. We do not leave traps over the weekend. Traps will be reset on Monday mornings if requested or deemed necessary.
No animals will be taken until an Intake Form is filled out and signed by the complainant or owner of the animal.
