CRIME SCENE UNIT
The Crime Scene Unit of the Seneca Police Department responds to;
* Homicide
* Suicide
* Burglary
* Arson
* Kidnapping
* Other calls that involve major loss of property or serious bodily injury
Members of the Crime Scene Unit are certified police officers by the State of South Carolina who have received specialized training in Crime Scene Investigations, which includes homicide investigation, fingerprint analysis, marijuana analysis, digital photography, and blood splatter analysis.
Crime Scene Officers are responsible for collecting and preserving evidence at crime scenes and processing, as well as maintaining custody of evidence at Seneca Police Department.
Crime Scene Officers are also responsible for preparing detailed reports and testifying in court proceedings regarding their crime scene investigations.
